How are excessed teachers assigned to schools? |
Central office places excessed teachers based on their preferences, method of placement not clear.
Except where otherwise provided in the Agreement, teachers shall be transferred to schools with known vacant positions (Article XI, Section 12.0) for which they are qualified by credential, subject field(s), grade level (K-6) and skills. There is a Transfer Assignment Priority lists which groups teachers into 9 groups according to their status. Displaced teachers are listed fifth in priority among the nine groups. Assignments may be made by the Personnel Division without site interviews.
