Teachers are identified by seniority unless the certifications and/or unique skill set specific to the job for one of the potentially impacted teachers needs to be considered.

Placing Excessed Teachers
How are excessed teachers assigned to schools? Teachers placed by mutual consent between the teacher and principal and/or site selection committee.
Teacher identifies three schools and interviews with receiving principals. Following interviews, HR and receiving principals work together to identify the best match, assigning the teacher to one of his/her top three choices. If a situation arises where the three vacancies selected by a teacher are already filled, the teacher will be allowed to re-select from the available vacancies. Note, the procedure is slightly different when involuntary transfers occur due to a school closing (procedure B.2.i).
